The core difference between single-sided PCB and double-sided PCB lies in trace layout structure. A single-sided PCB contains conductive circuits on only one layer, while a double-sided PCB allows circuit routing on both top and bottom layers. Electrical interconnection between upper and lower traces is realized through metallized vias.
In terms of manufacturing workflow, double-sided PCB requires an additional electroless copper deposition process compared with single-sided boards. This critical copper sinking treatment ensures stable electrical conduction between two side circuits, which is the key technical difference in production.
