1. Overview of Teflon PCB (F4BM) Material

The PCB material used for Teflon PCB, namely F4BM, is laminated by glass woven cloth, adhesive film, Teflon resin and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) film in accordance with scientific formulas and strict technological processes. Compared with the F4B series, this product has obvious advantages in electrical performance, including a wider range of dielectric constant, lower dielectric loss tangent, increased resistance, and more stable overall performance, making it more suitable for high-frequency and high-reliability application scenarios.

2. Key Technical Parameters of Teflon PCB (F4BM)

2.1 Dielectric Constant (DK)

Available dielectric constant values: 2.20, 2.55, 2.65, 3.0, which can be selected according to different high-frequency application requirements to ensure optimal signal transmission performance.

2.2 Dimension (mm)

Standard dimensions: 300×250, 380×350, 440×550, 500×500, 460×610, 600×500, 840×840, 840×1200, 1500×1000. For special dimension requirements, customized laminates are available to meet the diverse needs of different projects.

2.3 Laminate Thickness (mm)

Available thickness options: 0.25, 0.5, 0.8, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 8.0, 10.0, 12.0, covering the thickness requirements of most Teflon PCB application scenarios.

3. Characteristics of Teflon PCB

Teflon PCB is widely used to replace ordinary FR4 boards due to its excellent characteristics, such as good weather resistance, high insulation, high lubrication, non-adhesion, and non-toxicity. However, compared with ordinary FR4 boards, Teflon PCB has the smallest surface tension among solid materials and does not adhere to any substances. Its mechanical properties are relatively weak, and its friction coefficient is only 1/5 of that of polyethylene—this is an important feature of the perfluorocarbon surface.
In addition, due to the low intermolecular force of the fluorocarbon chain, Teflon has non-stick properties, which makes it not easy to adhere to the surface of the substrate during the production process of Teflon PCB, requiring professional processing techniques to ensure manufacturing quality.

  4. Fast turnarounds available: We optimize the production process and arrange production reasonably to ensure fast delivery and help customers shorten the project cycle.

5. Real Project Display

In practical engineering projects, Teflon PCB (F4BM) has been fully verified for its excellent electrical performance. Specifically, it has a wider dielectric constant (DK) range, a lower dielectric loss (DF) tangent value, an increased resistance value, and more stable overall performance. These advantages enable it to perfectly meet the high-frequency signal transmission requirements of complex electronic equipment and win wide recognition from customers.

6. RF/Microwave Teflon PCB Application Overview

Teflon PCBs with radio frequency (RF PCBs) have become an increasingly indispensable technology in the PCB industry, with their application scope expanding rapidly alongside the development of new electronic technologies. They are classified based on operating frequency:
  • RF PCBs: Operate at frequencies above 100 MHz, suitable for a variety of high-frequency electronic devices and communication systems.
  • Microwave PCBs: Operate at frequencies above 2 GHz, mainly used in high-frequency communication, microwave equipment, and other scenarios that require high signal integrity.

Teflon PCBs are widely applied in various fields, including remote controls (wireless controls), security systems, smartphones, sensors, and other electronic products. The continuous advancement of new technologies such as 5G, IoT, and microwave communication has further increased the demand for RF applications, which in turn imposes higher requirements on PCB manufacturing quality standards and material selection.

Understanding the properties of various RF materials is crucial for PCB manufacturing. Choosing the right Teflon PCB material (such as F4BM) is perhaps the most critical decision in the production process of Teflon PCBs, as it directly determines the performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of the final product.
