  • Data Sheet

Rogers PCB production relies on profound technical accumulation in high-frequency circuit manufacturing. As a professional Rogers PCB manufacturer, Maxipcb has in-depth mastery of Rogers material properties, including laminated board specifications, dielectric constant characteristics and high-frequency stability indicators.
Rogers substrate PCB is a premium high-frequency material developed by Rogers Corporation, differing fundamentally from conventional FR-4 substrates. Without ordinary epoxy resin composition, multiple grades adopt ceramic composite structures. It delivers stable dielectric constant and excellent temperature resistance, with a thermal expansion coefficient highly matched with copper foil, effectively making up for the performance shortcomings of pure PTFE substrates. Ideal for high-speed circuit design, commercial microwave antennas and RF products, Rogers PCB features ultra-low water absorption, ensuring stable operation in high-humidity environments. We supply genuine high-quality Rogers substrates and standardized processing services to guarantee reliable quality for high-frequency electronic equipment.
Widely adopted in microwave communication, 5G infrastructure, military radar, aerospace and other fields requiring high frequency and long-term operational reliability, Rogers PCB has become a core substrate choice for high-performance radio frequency systems.

Core Features of Rogers Substrate PCB

  • High structural rigidity and excellent mechanical & electrical performance, supporting reliable hole metallization;
  • High-precision board thickness control and outstanding dimensional stability;
  • Firm copper foil bonding, strong peel strength, no delamination or blistering after long-term use;

Difference Between Rogers PCB and FR4 PCB

Cost & Application Scenario

FR4 is the most cost-effective general substrate, applicable to low-frequency and normal-temperature conventional electronic products. Rogers high-frequency materials have higher raw material costs, which are essential for high-speed signal transmission, microwave radio frequency and extreme temperature working environments.

Impedance Stability

Dielectric constant is the core factor affecting circuit impedance. FR4 has a maximum DK of 4.5 with poor stability, while Rogers substrates provide a wide DK range of 2.2 to 16. Its stable dielectric parameters ensure accurate impedance control under high frequency and high temperature.

Thermal Management

High-speed and high-frequency circuits generate continuous heat. Rogers laminates have superior heat resistance and thermal conductivity, while FR4 is limited by temperature resistance and cannot adapt to high-temperature working conditions.

Signal Transmission Loss

Rogers PCB has an extremely low dissipation factor of 0.004%, much lower than 0.02% of ordinary FR4. It effectively reduces high-frequency signal attenuation and ensures high-fidelity signal transmission.

Moisture Resistance

Rogers PCB features ultra-low hygroscopicity, avoiding electrical parameter drift caused by moisture absorption, and maintaining stable performance in humid and complex environments.
In practical application, FR4 balances cost and performance for medium and low-frequency equipment. Rogers PCB is dedicated to high-end scenarios with strict requirements on low loss, high stability and high reliability.

Rogers PCB Impedance Calculation

High-speed signals such as PCI, PCI-E, USB, Ethernet, DDR, HDMI, LVDS, as well as automotive anti-collision radar and satellite communication systems, require precise impedance control. The impedance value is adjusted through line width, stacking thickness and line spacing, with mainstream differential impedance controlled at 85–120 ohms.
Rogers officially launches the MWI-2018 impedance calculator, covering coplanar waveguide, microstrip line, stripline and other microwave circuit models. After selecting the substrate model, copper thickness and material parameters, the system can automatically identify DK, DF, thermal conductivity and other data to complete fast impedance simulation and design verification.
